UKSIF launches investment practices survey

UKSIF, the sustainable investment finance association, has launched a survey into responsible investment practices of UK corporate pension funds, which could be of note to people with private wealth.

Last week (April 1st 2011), the group announced the questionnaire will be handed out to assess whether environmental, social and governance issues are being taken into consideration.

It stated that the survey will help UK corporate pension fund managers learn more about their role in promoting Responsible Investment (RI)

Michael Deakin, chair of the UKSIF Sustainable Pensions Advisory Board, commented on the 2009 Responsible Business: Sustainable Pension report, saying it demonstrated that RI was beginning to emerge as a concern among pension fund managers.

"It will be interesting to see to what extent these trends are continuing," Mr Deakin remarked.

This survey comes after UKSIF welcomed the new focus within the Statement of Investment Principles by the National Employment Savings Trust on to RI.
