Alliance Savings Trust tops investment trusts list

Brits with private wealth may be interested to know that the Alliance Savings Trust has topped a list of the 20 best investment trusts in the UK.

An investment trust is a form of collective investment, mainly found in the UK. A number of individuals and companies with private wealth pool their money together in a trust, which then invests in stocks and shares on their behalf.

Alliance Trust PLC published the top 20 investor platforms over the last six months, of which it came first, today (July 6th).

The Scottish Mortgage Investment Trust and the Edinburgh Investment Trust came second and third respectively.

These top three trusts are taking part in a special promotional offer, which means the standard online dealing charge of £12.50 is waived.
