Bradford charity moves premises thanks to social investment fund

Bradford Talking Media (BTM), a northern charity, has been able to move premises due to a substantial social investment.

The charity, which was established 29 years ago, has moved from cramped offices to studios set over two floors, after receiving £410,000 into their charity bank account, reports the Telegraph and Argus.

The Social Enterprise Investment Fund made the donation as a result of the charity applying for a capital grant for the second time.

Susan Crowe, BTM's managing director, told the news provider: "We were stunned when we got the news we'd been successful but we'd really moved heaven and earth to make it happen."

The Social Enterprise Investment Fund aims to support social enterprises delivering innovative health and social care services and products.

It also offers social investment to help these non-profit organisations become sustainable in the longer term.

The main aim of BTM is to produce talking magazines, of which they have five titles, which are given to people who cannot access the written word.
