Buy-to-let offers strong return on private wealth investment

Getting involved with real estate investment in order to rent out properties could be a savvy option for Brits with private wealth.

That is because the current high demand for rental properties means buy-to-let offers a good return on investment.

Such is the opinion of Nick Lyons, managing director of NoLettingGo.co.uk, which provides inventory management services to the residential lettings sector.

He said: "The demand for let property is constantly increasing due to the difficulty for first-time buyers raising deposits to get on the housing ladder.

"This demand, coupled with a lack of supply of properties, has meant that landlords have the added bonus of strong returns on their investment due to increased rental and low interest rates."

These comments were made in light of a report published by the Council for Mortgage Lenders on November 10th.

It revealed that the number of new buy-to-let loans being taken out increased by 16 per cent in the third quarter, its highest level since quarter one 2008, suggesting more people are getting involved with real estate investment.
