Leeds dinner brings together planners

The Personal Finance Society (PFS) has inaugurated a series of informal networking opportunities with a dinner in Leeds.

A total of 24 chartered financial planners attended the event - and discussed issues currently facing the industry.

Direction for the talks was provided by the Personal Accounts Delivery Authority’s Paul Gilbody, the guest speaker.

An update on the auto-enrolment process for the nationwide employee pension program, set for roll-out in 2012, was provided by the expert.

Paul Lothian, PFS president and the event’s host, said: ’I am very encouraged to have so many chartered financial planners at the first of our Chartered Business Dinners.

’The atmosphere was very positive and all those that attended appreciated the opportunity to hear the latest developments on auto-enrolment and to share views and ideas with their peers.’

Mr Gilbody added: ’Chartered financial planners have an important role to play and there is an opportunity to be grasped by fully understanding the process and implications of auto-enrolment.’ADNFCR-2318-ID-19251491-ADNFCR
