Green energy and gold 'are great investment opportunities'

One finance expert has offered tips on investments in both the short and the long-term for those hoping to step up their wealth management strategies.

Stanley Fink, head of International Standard Asset Management, told Reuters that in the short-term, gold and other heavily-relied-upon commodities are a failsafe option.

When it comes to the long-term, he added, green energy is also a sure-fire bet for investors.

He also placed a lot of emphasis upon the potential of South Africa as a hub for sound investing and economic progression for the future.

Africa is well positioned to provide a solution to climate change because of year-round sunlight in most countries, Fink said.

’Green power comes from sunshine […] Africa, with the sunlight, will have a lot of the keys to helping solve global warming,’ Mr Fink explained.

The expert’s comments come after spot gold rose to a record high of $1,090 per ounce earlier this week.
