"More and more" people considering socially responsible investment

An increasing number of people are thinking about socially responsible investment, it has been asserted.

Mark Robinson, spokesperson at the Ethical Investment Research Service, made his comments after the Investment Management Association published new research showing that total ethical funds under management in the third quarter of this year stood at £5.5 billion.

He stated that the ongoing effects of the global economic downturn have not affected consumers’ appetite for such ethical investments.

’More and more people are starting to think about ethical options as part of their financial planning and I think [during] the financial crisis that hasn’t gone away and it has actually been reinforced in some instances,’ he added.

Indeed, Mr Robinson concluded by noting that the credit crunch and recession have made many people think more about how, why and where their money is spent, meaning that ethical investments have grown in popularity in some cases.ADNFCR-2318-ID-19462541-ADNFCR
