New Manchester office wins planning permission

Redevelopment of office space in central Manchester is set to go ahead after the project was granted planning permission.

Elizabeth House in St Peter’s Square is to be turned into a new 270,000 sq ft building through a joint venture between the Greater Manchester Property Venture Fund and Argent.

The development, which may offer office expansion opportunities for private banks that have offices in Manchester, will include a mixed-use ground floor, which will be used as a cultural space to host public exhibitions.

Development director for Argent James Nicholson welcomed news that the development has ’the seal of approval’.

’We can [now] continue to work alongside the city council and other landowners to transform the current site into an unparalleled piece of public realm,’ he remarked.

Argent is also responsible for the redevelopment of King’s Cross Central in London, where planning permission has been secured for up to 25 new office buildings totalling around 4.9 million sq ft.ADNFCR-2318-ID-19612959-ADNFCR
