Leeds business park set to boost investment levels
As well as creating hundreds of new jobs, a new business park set for Leeds will serve to boost levels of inward investment, it has been claimed.
With owner CalEast Global Logistics having been granted planning permission by Leeds City Council, the Hawks Park site is due to be transformed into a 70-acre business and industrial park.
In addition to a new 200,000 sq ft warehouse, which will be located right alongside the M1 motorway, the park will be home to nine separate office buildings, with as many as 2,000 jobs expected to be created once work is complete.
Welcoming the news of the forthcoming site, Mike Dove from property consultancy firm Dove Haigh Philips told UKTI Today: ’This development will lead to crucial inward investment and job opportunities for the county, and is one of the very finest of its type in the region.
’It is an exceptional opportunity, backed by a first-class development team, which will provide a great boost for the Yorkshire economy.’
At the same time, work is due to start on improving the M62 in West Yorkshire, with this development also set to boost business links for the region.
