Kleinwort Benson, one of the UK’s longest established and most innovative providers of total wealth management solutions to corporate and private clients, is pleased to announce the latest stage in its regional development programme with the establishment of its Cambridge office.
Nigel Brown, founder of the NW Brown Group, has also joined the Kleinwort Benson office in Cambridge. Mr. Brown joins Kleinwort Benson having retired in February 2007 from his position as Chairman of the company he founded, after 35 years building relationships with businesses, universities, financial institutions and communities in theCambridge area.
Nigel Brown was awarded an OBE in the New Year’s Honours list for services to business and the community in Cambridgeshire. In 2007 he was also recipient of an individual Queen’s award for Supporting and Nurturing Early Stage businesses and he will be High Sheriff of Cambridgeshire in 2008. For the last 21 years, Nigel has also been helping top, young, British musicians by forming syndicates to purchase their instruments, including Nigel Kennedy’s first Stradivarius, which launched his career.

The Cambridge office opening
follows the successful establishment of Kleinwort Benson offices in Birmingham,Manchester and Newbury over the past 12 months. Kleinwort Benson’s regional offices build on its long-established history of providing wealth management solutions to high net worth individuals, executives and entrepreneurs in theUK. The Cambridge office will provide an extensive offering to local individuals, ranging from banking, fiduciary services and investment management advice to enterprising initiatives, including tax-efficient structured products, pensions advice and absolute return investments. The aim is to assist in creating a bespoke wealth managementsolution.
The Cambridge office is located in Wellington House and will be run by Michael Magnay. Mr. Magnay has been with Kleinwort Benson for eleven years, managing discretionary and advisory portfolios for private individuals, charities and trusts.
The office will also be staffed by Katharine Kennedy. Katharine has six years’ experience as a Private Banker and joins Kleinwort Benson from Coutts. Katharine brings with her valuable experience of the entrepreneurial sector and developing key networks of business owners and professionals, such as a ’Women in Business’ networking group.
