Socially-responsible investment conference welcomes international speakers

A socially-responsible investment conference is to take place in Scotland next month, with India's renewable energy minister, the head of climate change and environment for the European Investment Bank and the European Union's North Sea grid co-ordinator all due to speak at the event.

Focusing specifically on low carbon socially-responsible investment, the two-day meeting will be opened by first minister Alexander Salmond on September 28th.

He said as well as building on existing partnerships, the talks would "[bring] major utilities and developers of low carbon projects together with key financial leaders and investors - to scope opportunities, explore challenges, identify solutions and help forge the new green economy."

Socially-responsible investment has been growing over the past decade, with more than 100 funds now available in the UK for investors to choose from.

And partnerships with India have been popular of late, as the London Stock Exchange joined forces with the Asian nation's National Stock Exchange, signing a letter of intent with the aim of closer future cooperation.  ADNFCR-2318-ID-800033353-ADNFCR
