Private investment in property up as buy-to-let investors 'become more active'?

The incidence of those with private wealth investing in property may continue to grow, as one expert observes buy-to-let speculators are becoming more active.

Property industry specialist Malcolm Harrison noted the rental sector is growing at an unforeseen rate, saying this is one reason there are more people considering becoming landlords.

Such individuals may offer private wealth as collateral on their purchases, as mortgages can be difficult to secure and using a home for the purpose could be a risky move.

Mr Harrison predicted the number of tenants will continue to grow in the next five to ten years, stating: "The nub of what makes investment in rental property interesting is, is there a market out there? The answer to that is yes, there very much is."

LSL Property Services recently revealed 42 per cent of landlords believe the climate is good for investment in property, suggesting the individuals acquiring real estate assets might rise correspondingly. ADNFCR-2318-ID-800042938-ADNFCR
