Socially-responsible investors win award

Socially-responsible investment groups have won recognition at the Ethical Investment Association's (EIA) 2010 Transparency Awards announced today (September 9th).

Winners include Axa Investment Managers, Henderson Global Investors, Jupiter Asset Management and Rathbone Unit Trust Management , which all were deemed to have performed well in implementing the European SRI Transparency Code, a measure of green and open professional practices.

Commenting on the socially-responsible investors, group chair Julian Parrot stated: "Investment clients are increasingly aware of the impact of their investments on society and the environment. Increased transparency by product providers allows financial advisers and clients to make informed choices."

Established by financial advisers in 1998, the group aims to encourage ethical asset use, with members agreeing to abide by a code of conduct and taking part in training to develop financial services in the sector.

The third time the awards have been held, winners were announced at the EIA's quarterly conference on how to offer advice on socially-responsible investment.  ADNFCR-2318-ID-800058438-ADNFCR
