CISI supports offshore banking in Cayman Islands

Offshore banking in the Cayman Islands is to receive a boost with the introduction of a new financial services training scheme.

The Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI) announced today (October 12th) it is working with the University College Cayman Islands to launch an accredited training course in the CISI's main international qualifications.

Already popular for offshore banking, the qualification - which will cover International Introduction to Investment, Risk in Financial Services, International Certificate in Wealth Management and the CISI Certificates programme - is intended to "support the ongoing development and professionalism of the Cayman Islands' wealth management industry".

Simon Culhane, chief executive officer of CISI, said: "This will allow Caymanians … to pursue a career in the securities and investment industry," stating the course should support the islands' economic growth.

Active in 89 countries, the organisation oversees training and qualifications in relevant vocational qualifications and may improve the availability of offshore banking by ensuring skilled individuals are in place to provide the necessary services.  ADNFCR-2318-ID-800111237-ADNFCR
