Sally Tennant Appointed CEO of Kleinwort Benson Bank
Kleinwort Benson Bank today announces the appointment of Sally Tennant as Chief Executive, effective from mid-January 2011 (subject to regulatory approval). Sally joins from Lombard Odier Darier Hentsch (“Lombard Odier”), the Swiss private bank, where she was Chief Executive of its London-based private banking operation. Sally replaces Robert Taylor, who joined Kleinwort Benson as CEO in 2004.

Kleinwort Benson, one of the most historic names in the City of London and with origins in merchant banking dating back to 1786, is pleased to announce that its change of ownership, from Commerzbank AG to RHJ International SA (RHJI), is now complete. The completion sees the formation of a new financial services group under the holding company KB Financial Services Holdings Limited.

London calling: Wake up call for City as Kamall campaigns on EU plans to regulate the City
The appointment of Michael Barnier as the EU Internal Market Commissioner has raised concerns that a tough regulatory regime will be imposed on the City, curbing bonuses, restricting the activities of banks and creating a new supervisory framework for private equity and hedge funds. And with the threat of the AIFM Directive looming, the Financial Services industry "needs to engage". That is the considered view of Syed Kamall, one of the Conservative MEPs responsible for reviewing the EU’s proposed regulations and directives in the European Parliament.
