Meet the Team

MICHAEL MAGNAY

Michael Magnay is the Head of the Cambridge office of Kleinwort Benson. He joined the company as a Graduate Trainee in September 1996 and is now an Executive P rivate Banker. Michael was educated at the University of Manchester where he received a Bachelors degree in European Studies, specialising in German, Politics and Economics.

At Kleinwort Benson Michael began his career as an analyst covering the UK Media, Property and Banking sectors. Thereafter he assumed responsibility for managing a wide range of private client , charity and trust portfolios. He has been actively involved in the structuring of portfolios with a focus on risk and volatility management. In 2008 Michael moved to Cambridge as an Executive Private Banker, with the mandate to grow and expand the Kleinwort Benson franchise in the East of England. 

In addition to his work in the world of financial services, Michael has involved himself as a Director of the Cambridge Arts Theatre. Michael enjoys the performing arts and also participates in several sporting activities. Michael lives in Cambridge and is married with two children.

LUCY PEMBERTON

Lucy joined Kleinwort Benson in January 2007 as Team Administrator and Office Manager for the Cambridge Office.

Lucy spent many years working in London as a PA/Paralegal for several US corporate law firms before moving to East Anglia.  After moving to the Cambridge area, she worked as PA to the Commercial Director and General Counsel of TTPCom plc (based in Melbourn, Herts) until it was acquired by Motorola, and then as PA to the Chief Executive of Bidwells, the leading Cambridge property company.

Outside work, Lucy has a keen interest in all types of music and is both a singing and busy committee member of Saffron Walden Choral Society.

KATHARINE KENNEDY

Katharine Kennedy has six years’ experience as a Private Banker and recently joined Kleinwort Benson from Coutts in Cambridge. Her focus is on the entrepreneurial sector and she has developed a ’Women in Business’ network of professionals and business owners.

Katharine has a History degree from University College London and holds the Securities and Investments Institute Diploma (MSII Dip), the Certificate of Investment Advice (IAC) and the Certificate of Mortgage Advice (CeMAP).
